Our Story

Project Pen is a high-impact next generation publishing concept for emerging creative and fiction writers in the Middle East. Online and offline we encourage new forms of digital expression and storytelling to create “a new generation of writers, creating new kinds of stories, for a new kind of readership.”

Project Pen is responsible for the region’s first English and Arabic twitter storytelling contest, the region’s first collaborative storytelling event called “Storylabs”, and for freely available ebooks on Ipad and Kindle such as ‘Stories from Amman, Manga Stories and Twitter Stories.”

We have partnered with EUNIC, Darat Al Funun, Syntax, Wasat Al Balad, Hakaya Storytelling Festival, Stonethrow Studios, Umniah, Spin Jordan, Al Bawaba News, TasmeemeME, BeAmman and worked with singers, storytellers, musicians, artists, developers, and programmers across Jordan and the Middle East.

Project Pen is currently incubating at the Tech accelerator Oasis500, at the King Hussein Business Park in Jordan.

قصتنا

مشروع قلم هو مشروع للنشر موجه للأجيال القادمة وخصوصًا المبدعين الناشئين وكتاب الخيال في العالم العربي والشرق الأوسط. نسعى إلى تشجيع أشكال جديدة من رواية القصص على الإنترنت وخارجه وذلك لابتكار "جيل جديد من الكتاب مع أنواع جديدة من القصص لنوع جديد من القراء".

في قائمة مشاريعه الإبداعية، قام مشروع قلم بإطلاق أول مسابقة من نوعها في المنطقة حول رواية القصص على موقع التدوين المصغر تويتر باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية، إضافة لمعمل القصص الذي عمل على التشبيك بين رواة القصص بشكل تفاعلي، وتوفير كتب إلكترونية للتحميل المجاني على جهازي آيباد وكندل مثل "قصص من عمّان"، و"قصص المانغا"، و"قصص تويترية".

كما وقام مشروع قلم بعقد شراكات مع "أوينك" / EUNIC (شبكة المراكز الثقافية الأوروبية للدول الأعضاء في الإتحاد الأوروبي)، ودارة الفنون، وشركة سينتاكس، وواو البلد، وملتقى حكايا، واستوديوهات ستونثرو، وشركة أمنية، وسبن جوردان، وموقع البوابة، وموقع تصميمي، وموقع بعمّان بجانب العمل مع المغنيين، ورواة القصص، والموسيقيين، والفنانين، والمطورين في الأردن وخارجها.

حاليًا يخوض مشروع قلم تجربته كواحدة من الشركات الناشئة الموجودة في مبنى أوسيس 500 الكائن في مجمّع الملك حسين للأعمال.
